Privacy Policy

In short
- pixiq has no account, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. We don't sell or share data.
- Your screen, input, files, clipboard, notifications and sound go only between your own devices, encrypted end to end. We can't see them, not even when they pass through our relay.
- Our servers are only involved when pixiq checks for updates and when you use pixiq Connect (use from anywhere). What they process is listed below, with how long it's kept.
Who is responsible
pixiq is published by Maskova Studio (Serbia). Contact for anything about privacy: [email protected].
Local use (USB, Wi-Fi, your own VPN)
The PC app and the Android app talk directly to each other. Nothing about this reaches us. Each device keeps its own key to recognize the devices it was paired with: on the PC in Windows' key storage (the TPM when available), on Android in the Android Keystore. Settings stay on your devices. The Android app is excluded from Android backups.
- Notifications: after you allow it, the PC app reads Windows notifications only to show them on your paired devices.
- Microphone (Android): used only when you tap Dictate. Recognition is done by the speech recognition service of your device (for example Google), under that provider's terms; pixiq only receives the recognized text and types it on your PC.
- QR code scanning (Android): done on the device by Google Play services' code scanner; pixiq only receives the scanned text.
- Files you send are saved in the Downloads/pixiq folder of the receiving device.
Update checks (PC app)
The PC app downloads a small signed file from pixiq-dl.maskova.studio about every 6 hours to learn whether a new version exists, and the installer when you click Update. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and the app version to the server. We don't keep logs of these requests ourselves; our hosting provider Cloudflare processes them to deliver the files.
pixiq Connect (use from anywhere)
Only when you turn on Allow connections from anywhere on your PC and connect from another network. Our matchmaking server introduces your phone or tablet to your PC; afterwards they connect directly, or through the relay.
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your PC's and devices' public keys and the IDs derived from them; the list of devices paired with your PC | Only devices paired with your PC may reach it | While your PC is connected to the server |
| IP addresses and network addresses (connection candidates) of the PC and the device | Setting up the connection between them | Only for the moment of setting it up |
| Time of each request and the device's ID | Blocking replayed requests; limiting requests per device | 10 minutes |
| Server logs: shortened IDs (first 8 characters), result codes, and request details such as the IP address | Operating the service, fixing errors | A few days (Cloudflare's log retention) |
| Relay: IP addresses and the amount of data relayed | Forwarding encrypted traffic when a direct connection isn't possible; staying within the relay's monthly volume | Kept by Cloudflare as part of its service; we only see monthly totals for the whole service |
The relay forwards only encrypted data. Neither we nor Cloudflare can read your screen, input or files.
Subscriptions
pixiq Connect subscriptions are bought through Google Play. Google handles payment and billing under its own privacy policy; we never see your payment details. To unlock pixiq Connect, the app sends us the purchase token Google gives it; we check it with Google and link it to the IDs of up to 10 of your devices, for as long as the subscription exists and as long as the law requires afterwards for invoices.
This website
No cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts. Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages.
Support emails
If you write to us, we use your message and email address only to answer you, and delete them when they're no longer needed.
Service providers
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website, downloads, matchmaking server and relay. Cloudflare may process data in data centers around the world, under its data processing terms and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Google: Google Play (distribution of the Android app, subscriptions and payments).
Legal basis
We process the data above to provide the features you use (performance of a contract), and our logs to keep the service secure and working (legitimate interest).
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to processing, or ask for a copy. Most data is never stored or is deleted within minutes; your keys and settings are on your own devices, and uninstalling pixiq removes them. Write to [email protected]. If you're in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
pixiq isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top. Important changes are also announced in the app's release notes.
